Apologetically: The Scar

Image
It's been a long that I have not written any stuff on my blog- an apology.    It is something in and around we all have experienced the term called 'Discrimination' - Caste, Class  Gender and so on. The Scar is an autobiography written in Tamil as Vadu   and translated into English as The Scar . K A.Gunasekaran naturally portrays his experience of belonging to a lower caste called Parayar. After reading him I felt he is an amalgamation of three religions- Islam, Christianity and Hindu. His tale of caste oppression and prejudices made him a strong human being. He narrates the milieu in Elayankudi- where he and his family lived and has not found the caste distinctions. Being a teacher his father and an educated mother always emphasized on education irrespective of their poverty. His father was a progressive thinker, that's why his parents never showed any interest in God, temples, and rituals. Because of them, he never came under the influence of faith. But the su...

Evolution Lived in fences so far with cherished times, days, Yes, memories too. Lived being encircled within bricks, walls, on paths, Yes, derogatory too. Forbearance stormed  to live with a choice Yes, the desire too. To live, fly, flow and wave-like water, to shine and dazzle like a diamond amidst the coal Yes, certainly accomplished too. @Noor 1/7/22 late post though. I feel some poetry must contain raw substance, otherwise, how it gonna achieve the ripeness,  "Indeed emotions are convenient often intolerable."    Do share your experience of writing stuff later u found it raw.

She Would Say

Image
She Would Say   I know that; she has experienced Peaks and valleys,  I know that; she has loved Her life because of blessings She would say,   I know that has made Her to embrace and cherish, I know that; she has surpassed Vivid and insipid shades She would say,   I know that has made Her realise it will all perish,  I know what she would say? Afterall!   you are all mine   Because I was the one who Felt you, heard you, bore you,  I know that; she has faced But remained contended She would say,   Because I was meant to be Dutiful, solicitous, and bountiful,   I know that; she has did it all Without malice, otherwise We would have not been born? She would say,   I know that; she is transcendent, She is Magnificent, She is Endless, She would not say.   Noorul Huda 25/4/22 She loves Gardening and this fresh bloomed Yellow Lilly is for her. ...

Ambedkar as a Wonder

Image
Ambedkar as a Wonder      In my childhood, I was fascinated by the attire of Ambedkar and his chashma. Then I had no thought that his attire is a   symbol of modernity. I use to wonder why we celebrate Ambedkar Jayanti every year on the 14 th April but today I understand his philosophy, stature, and magnanimity. His insults, humiliation and social stigma of lower caste made him constructive critic of Indian society. Due to exploitation,   he possessed a firm belief in democracy, where every individual will have political, social and economic justice. And his affirmation has reflected in the preamble of the Indian constitution.      When I ask my students about their role model or any inspiring personality they look up to I do get answers   ‘Ambedkar’, then I ask them why? Their answers would be this ‘he gave us Constitution’,   but my dear students don’t know that what treasure he has left with all of us. Probably they might hav...

Revolutionary Phule

Image
Revolutionary Phule “ Lack of education leads to lack of wisdom, which leads to lack of morals, which leads to lack of progress, which leads to lack of money, which leads to the oppression of the lower classes, see what state of the society one lack of education can cause.” -Phule In my master's I opted for Dalit literature as one of my soft-core subjects. During this process of learning, I became acquainted with the personality of the Jyotiba Phule and Savitribai Phule. I also discovered Phule is not just a social reform rather he is an institution in himself. So from then, I started admiring his revolutionary thoughts and principles. In the early 19th century, Phule became popular due to his out-of-the-box thinking. He became the pioneer to launch a movement for the liberation of caste-oppressed, toilers and women irrespective of the caste in modern India. I must mention his inspiration for his actions such as Buddha, Kabir, the emergent liberation of the west, and the ...
