Ukraine: Land of Wounds
Ukraine: Land of Wounds
Though I am too late to talk about the Ukraine crisis yet, the problem remains fresh and fervulent.
The creation of new nations has always been problematic, similar is in the case of Ukraine and its ongoing crisis.
Ukraine got its independence in 1991 from Soviet Russia and declared itself a neutral state. In 1994 established its partnership with NATO. The further political developments grew bitter with Russia by initiating the closer of economic ties. Hence led to Russia's annexation of Crimea in March 2014. This was further supported by Russian-backed separatists, which resulted in a Russian invasion in February 2022.
As a nation, Ukraine is packed with ethnic affiliations. Its ethnicity contributes to enriching its cultural pride and at the same time, it could be a root cause of divisions and tensions in the society. Therefore, the nation's political and cultural fabric becomes fragile and turbulent.
Ukraine is divided into four directions for its political and geographical convenience. But surprisingly it has its historical background as eastern Ukraine was the heartland of Industrial development in the Russian empire and Western Ukraine remains the most rural region of Ukraine.
Hence, between these two magnets of the west and east, the rest of Ukraine has not exhibited particularly strong political directions.
coming to the question of intervention of the West has always been problematic. If we look at the Israel-Palestine conflict, Syrian crisis, and Afghanistan crisis, to mention few. For its capitalist market, the US want larger consumer for its production and at the same time, it has its humanitarian set up to assist the wounded. This game has always been played in the name of geo-politics to demonstrate the power.
Not surprisingly, today it is the turn of Ukraine between the big elephants. Who is going to pay for the losses? The loss of humans has created a huge trust gap both at the national and international levels.
Yet, I am optimistic about humanity and normalising things very soon. I also feel sorry for the dead, wounded, and homeless victims of war, violence and destruction.
I end this note by quoting an African proverb; "When the elephants fight and the grass gets trampled."

What Ukraine is need a political support, after the downfall soviet, many countries which supported soviet saw a downfall which was pressurized by the giants USA, Russia, and China. Any war happing , it will be happened for the market, what Hitler did the same thing, but the present scenario is little different as they implementing in the name of globalization and creating fascist Outlook.
